Description
Nos. 3 and 4 in Rousham are two cottages dating from the early to mid 18th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble and feature large dressed quoins, topped with a gabled Welsh slate roof and brick end stacks. The cottages have a four-unit plan and stand two storeys high, displaying a five-window range. Timber lintels are present above a plank door, a blocked doorway, and 20th-century casements. At the rear, there are mid 19th-century service ranges also covered with Welsh slate roofs. Inside, the cottages feature chamfered beams, open fireplaces with wood bressumers, and 19th-century plank doors.
