Description

The Boat House, built around 1733-1740 by William Kent, is a Grade II* listed structure located in Rousham Park. It is constructed from squared and coursed limestone, featuring ashlar voussoirs that form a semi-circular arch. The building is set into a hillside and has a barrel-vaulted interior. This boat house is part of the landscape gardens designed by William Kent during the same period. Rousham Park is recognized in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade I.
