Description

A row of four cottages was built in the late 18th century, with later 19th and 20th century additions. The cottages are constructed of coursed, squared, and dressed limestone, with a slate roof, limestone gable copings, and cement-rendered stacks. The layout is rectangular, featuring a 19th-century extension projecting at a right angle from the garden front, and a 20th-century, flat-roofed extension at the rear, which is not considered to be of special interest. The garden front has two storeys and an attic, with five two-light dormers fitted with metal casements. Windows are double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements with horizontal glazing bars and stopped hoods; these include two-, three- and four-light examples. A six-panel door with glazed upper panels and a flat canopy is located on the lower left, and a similar door provides access from the road to the rear. Axial and end stacks are present. The interior was not inspected. The property was originally listed as two cottages and a barn, situated 160 yards east of Temple Guiting House.
