Description
This sundial, located approximately 10 meters east-southeast of the East Formal Gardens, dates from around 1710 and was designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor. It is made of limestone and features a vase-shaped pedestal adorned with acanthus-leaf carvings at the base and carved swags. The brass dial includes a ducal coronet set in the gnomon. The pedestal was carved by Henry Banks, while the dial was made by John Rowley. Blenheim Park, where the sundial is situated, is recognized in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade I.
