Description
Brecon Cottage and Peartree Cottage are two houses located on the north side of Ducklington Tristram Road. They date from 1676, as indicated by a datestone bearing the initials “HW”. The houses are constructed of roughly-cut limestone rubble with a gabled concrete tile roof and brick end stacks, the stack to the left being rendered. They have a two-unit plan and are arranged as a two-storey, two-window range. Timber lintels are present above the 20th-century doors in the centre of the building and above the 20th-century windows. Short, single-storey service ranges were added in the late 19th century to the front on the right-hand side and to the rear. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of architectural interest.
