Description
61 and 63 Witney Road are two houses dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with the eaves raised in the early 19th century and some 20th-century alterations. The buildings are constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with a colourwashed and roughcast front, and feature a gabled thatch roof with end stacks made of stone finished in brick. They have a 4-unit plan and are two storeys tall, with a four-window range.
No. 61, on the left, includes a 20th-century porch and door next to an early 19th-century square bay window with a tripartite sash. It has timber lintels over two 19th-century two-light half-dormer casements. No. 63 features a 20th-century porch and door, along with late 19th-century two-light casements and a 20th-century one-storey extension to the right. The interior of No. 61 has chamfered beams, an early 19th-century brick segmental-arched fireplace to the left, and a collar-truss with butt purlins. The interior of No. 63 was not inspected.
