Description

The building comprises a schoolroom and a small house, located in Worton Nether Worton. The schoolroom dates to 1820, while the house is of 18th-century origin, with extensions added in the 19th century. The house is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with a Welsh slate roof and ashlar and brick stacks. It has a two-unit plan, later extended to three units. The two-storey, three-window front features a 20th-century porch situated between the original bays and includes two-light casement windows, with an added bay on the left side. Ashlar plinths are visible on the stacks flanking the earlier bays. The single-storey schoolroom connects the house to the Church of St. James and features a large three-light casement and a doorway now covered by a large glazed porch. The interiors have not been inspected. The buildings are listed for their group value.
