Description
West End Cottage is a house that was originally three cottages, dating from 1765. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with a stone ridge stack. The building has a three-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window range. There is a central blocked doorway, with timber lintels and concrete-rendered lintels over a blocked door to the left, a 20th-century door to the right, and 20th-century casements. The cottage also has three hipped roof dormers. At the rear, there is a two-storey right wing made of similar materials, which includes a 20th-century porch that serves as the main entry. Inside, there are light chamfered beams, and the first floor features 18th-century panelled doors and winder stairs leading to the attic, along with a collar-truss with butt purlins.
