Description
This sundial, located approximately 6 meters south of Numbers 1 and 2 Bothy Cottages, dates from around 1710 and was designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor. It is made of limestone and features a vase-shaped pedestal with acanthus-leaf carvings at the base and carved swags. The brass dial includes a ducal coronet set in the gnomon. The pedestal was carved by Henry Banks, while the dial was made by John Rowley. Blenheim Park, where the sundial is situated, is listed in the HBMC Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade I.
