Description

The Castell memorial, located approximately 8 meters south of the Old Church, is a headstone dating from around 1687. It is made of limestone and features a rectangular section with a rounded top, designed in the form of a segmental scroll pediment. The front of the memorial has a raised inscription panel that is flanked by festoons, commemorating Anne, the wife of Robert Castell, who died on 20th November 1687 at the age of 55. There is also an illegible inscription on the rear of the memorial.
