Description

A row of four memorial stones is located between 10 meters and 15 meters north of the tower of the Church of St Mary in Wiveton. The stones date from the 18th century and are made of limestone.

The first headstone, from 1725, is rectangular with a moulded top. It features an inscription commemorating the death of a millwright, along with depictions of tools associated with his trade, including a mill-wheel, saw, and pair of compasses. The second headstone dates to 1736 and is rectangular with a curved top, featuring an inset oval with an anchor. The third stone, from 1724, is rectangular with a shaped top and displays a crossed torch and horn. The fourth headstone, dating to 1731, is also rectangular with a shaped top and features an hourglass flanked by wings.
