GV II

Barn and farmbuildings. Later C18. Coursed squared marlstone with some ashlar dressings; Stonesfield-slate roofs. 3-bay barn has central opposed doorways, now partly weatherboarded, and some slit openings. Slightly later range projects from rear of left bay and returns towards left as a 2-storey stable plus loft; left gable wall has 2 flat-arched openings. Gables of barn and stable have parapets. 2-bay shelter shed, to left of the barn, has a hipped roof. Long hipped-roofed low range, to right of barn, is open to rear. Interiors not inspected. Rubble retaining wall runs forward from right end of range, and returns across front of foldyard to main gate in coursed squared stone with a 2-course triangular coping. The buildings form an important element in the farm landscape developed by J.C. Loudon c.1810.
