Description
The stable range at Gyle's Farm dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with ashlar dressings, topped with Stonesfield-slate roofs. It is a single range on two levels, featuring one storey plus a loft. Each section has a stable door situated between slatted windows, all of which have labels. In the slightly later lower section, the windows on the left are linked. There are loft doors in the right section and in the left gable of the lower section, the latter also featuring a label. The interiors have not been inspected. This building is a significant part of the farm landscape that was developed by J.C. Loudon around 1810 and further developed by the Boulton family.
