Description
Manor Cottage is a small house dating from the early 18th century. It is built of limestone rubble with wooden lintels and has a concrete plain-tile roof featuring stone and brick gable stacks. The house has a single-unit plan and stands two storeys plus an attic high. The front has two tall windows on the first floor, which have 20th-century casements, and one similar window below. A 20th-century single-storey extension covers the second window opening, with the entrance located at the extreme right. The left stack has a marlstone plinth, while the right stack has been rebuilt. There is a 20th-century roof dormer, and the rear includes a rectangular stair projection. Inside, there is an open fireplace with an inglenook, a chamfered bressumer, and a spit rack. The cottage is said to have once served as a school and is included for its group value.
