Description
This is a barn located approximately 15 meters north of Manor Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century, with an extension from the late 18th century and later additions and alterations. The structure is built of roughly coursed limestone rubble and features alternating angle quoins. It has stone slate roofs with coped verges on the main range.
The barn has a wide full-height doorway, positioned to the left of center, which includes alternating angle quoins and a wooden lintel, with 20th-century double doors. There is an opposing entrance at the rear and a lower-infilled doorway with a wooden lintel on the far left. The barn also has narrow rectangular air vents, some of which have been infilled.
A low gabled range was added to the left in the late 18th century, with its front rebuilt in the 19th century, and it features a plank door on the left. Inside, the main range has a triple-purlin collar and tie beam roof supported by six bays, with raking struts connecting the tie beams to the principal rafters. The air vents are splayed internally, and there is a stone threshing floor.
