Description
The stable range located approximately 10 meters to the northeast of Foxhills Farmhouse is likely from the early 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed from marlstone rubble with squared dressings, marlstone ashlar, and features roofs made of corrugated asbestos and Welsh slate.
The earlier single-storey section of the stable range includes two doorways and two small slatted windows. A later two-storey ashlar section is set back to the right and features a doorway and a slatted window, along with a three-centred archway at the extreme right, which has a projecting keyblock and imposts. Steps adjacent to the stable range lead to a first-floor doorway, with a nine-pane window to the right. There is a dog kennel under the steps that has an arched entrance and retains its door. The right end wall of the granary range is made of brick, while the left end wall of the stables includes a crude three-row dovecote. Inside, the stables have crossed-apex trusses with through purlins supported on pegs. This building is included for its group value.
