Description

This gate pier, located approximately 40 meters east of Friars Court, is likely from the early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and has a square section with a moulded plinth. The pier features a projecting capping that is topped with an onion-shaped finial and a ball on top. It is one of a pair that marks the principal entrance to Friars Court.
