Description
Blandford House and the house attached to the left are two houses located on Combe Church Walk. The house on the right dates from the mid-18th century, while the house on the left is from the early 19th century. The mid-18th century house is built of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with end stacks made of stone finished in brick. It has a two-unit plan, is two storeys high, and has a two-window range. There is an 18th-century pediment hood over a 20th-century door, and timber lintels above late 19th-century and 20th-century casements. Medieval carved head corbels are reset in the wall on either side of the door. The early 19th-century house to the left is also made of limestone rubble, has a gabled concrete tile roof, and a brick end stack. This house is also two storeys high with a two-window range, featuring timber lintels over a 19th-century plank door and similar casements. There is an early 19th-century two-storey bay to the right with a blacked carriage arch. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have chamfered beams and a chamfered bressumer over an open fireplace.
