Description

This barn, located approximately 15 meters southwest of Bradshaws Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and was extended in the mid-18th century, with some minor alterations made later. It is constructed from roughly coursed limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The original structure is a three-bay barn that includes a cart entrance, which was added during the mid-18th century and extended to the left.

The 17th-century section has a gabled cart entrance, which is weatherboarded at the gable, positioned to the right of the center, with a plank door immediately to the left. The 18th-century extension on the left has a steeply pitched gable at the far right and features a plank door that breaks the eaves, accessed by external lateral steps. There is also a stable door to the left on the ground floor and a drip mould on the left gable end.

On the rear side, which faces the road, there is an infilled doorway with a casement window inserted to the left of center in the 18th-century addition, along with an infilled opposing entrance to the cart entrance of the 17th-century section.

Inside, the 17th-century part has a double-purlin collar and tie beam roof spanning three bays. The 18th-century addition features chamfered spine and cross beams on the ground floor, with a double-purlin roof in the loft that includes a central collar and tie beam truss.
