Description

This description covers a pair of memorials dedicated to the Rawlings family, located approximately 12 yards southwest of the west tower of St Mary's Church in Chipping Norton. These two chest tombs date from around 1800 and commemorate Robert Rawlings, with one tomb marking his death in 1801 (to the north) and the other in 1803 (to the south). The memorials are constructed of ashlar and feature a moulded plinth and cornices, panelled sides, and corner quarter balusters.
