Description
The White Horse Inn is a public house that was originally a house, dating from the 17th century or earlier, with the front remodeled in the mid-19th century. It features rubble construction on a chamfered plinth and has a Cotswold stone roof. The building is L-shaped with an alleyway to the north and stands two storeys tall. A 20th-century brick chimney is located to the left of the centre. The façade has a 1:3 window arrangement, with simple glazing-bar sash windows on the first floor. To the left, there is a wide and tall carriageway entry, and the exposed joist ends above suggest a historical jetty similar to that at the adjacent Hill House. Flanking the entry are two 20th-century three-light casements with wooden lintels beside a ledged door that has a traceried transom light. The alleyway features a large blocked entrance to the right. There are two gabled extensions, with the southern one being large and having half-dormers.
