Description
Thistle House comprises two houses dating from the early 19th century, with a portion incorporating the remains of an earlier structure on the left. The left side is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble with a gabled Welsh slate roof, while the right side is brick with a concrete tile roof. A brick stack appears at the right end, and a rear lateral stack is present on the left. The houses have a 2-unit plan, arranged over three storeys with a two-window front.
The front of No.12 features an early 19th-century bracketed cornice above a late 19th-century half-glazed door with an overlight, alongside a canted bay window to the right. To the left of No.12, moulded cornices are positioned above late 19th-century square bay windows flanking a half-glazed door. The two-storey oriel windows on either side have glazing bar sashes; the canted window on the right also has slender columns.
The interior of No.14 retains an early 19th-century “ducks-nest” grate and a straight-flight staircase. The interior of No.12 was not inspected.
