Description

Number 41, known as The Terrace House, features a front boundary wall and two pairs of gate piers. This structure dates from the early to mid-19th century and is set back from the road. It is built of rubble with raised corner piers and dressings, which were formerly rendered. The house has a hipped tile roof with ashlar end-wall stacks and is designed in a villa style, consisting of one bay on the left that is slightly set back and three bays on the right. The windows are glazing bar sash types. The right-hand section includes a central Tuscan porch with a four-panel door and a transom light above. The low front boundary wall is made of cut and squared rubble, topped with ashlar coping, and it ramps up to pairs of ball-capped gate piers at each end.
