Description
This is a 17th-century house, possibly incorporating an earlier structure, located on the south-east side of High Street in Milton-under-Wychwood. The house is constructed of coursed rubble with timber lintels, and has a slate roof with modern brick chimneys. It is two storeys high, with one window on the first floor and three windows on the ground floor, arranged somewhat irregularly. The left-hand window is within a walled-in entry, the centre window is a sash, and this was formerly the doorway. A half-glazed door from the 19th century is situated on the right. A rear extension connects to a parallel range that has been converted into an arch. Originally two or two-and-a-half storeys, the house has undergone several alterations. It retains timber of heavy scantling in the roof, which may date back to the 16th century. The house is attached to number 23, which is a similarly styled building.
