Description

No 23 on High Street in Milton-under-Wychwood is a house dated "W" over "RE 1724". It is constructed of freestone with a slate roof and features end chimneys, along with modern brick on ashlar bases. The building has two storeys and a gable-lit attic. It includes two early 19th-century windows with 16-pane sashes and a central half-glazed door, which is topped by a deep shallow open pediment hood supported by large scroll brackets. The fire insurance mark has been removed. At the rear, there is a gabled projection that likely contains stairs, featuring six rows of pigeon-holes and strings in the gable. No 23 is attached to No 21.
