Description
No. 47, known as the White House, features a boundary wall, piers, and gate, dating from around 1825. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has three window bays arranged symmetrically. It has a slate gabled roof with a central box dormer and an arcaded eaves cornice. The front is colourwashed and rendered, with sash windows that include glazing bars; the centre first-floor window is narrower by two panes. The doorway has a moulded architrave with angle roundels and a cornice, leading to a half-glazed door, behind which is a six-panel door with the top two panels cut away and glazed. The front boundary wall is stuccoed, with gate piers in the centre topped with peaked capping. There are additional piers at either end featuring incised line decoration, likely contemporary with the house, and plain capping. The gate consists of two rails with a semi-circular rail rising to meet the lower rail, and very narrow uprights topped with spear-headed finials. There is also a return boundary wall at the right-hand end, which is higher and has the same stone rubble capping.
