Description
This is a barn, later used as a store, located approximately 50 meters northeast of Hinksey Hill Farmhouse. It is dated 1776 on the tie beam and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a half-hipped stone slate roof. The barn has an L-plan layout with four bays on each side. The threshing floor entries feature dressed quoins and hipped midstreys at the rear.
Inside, the barn has collar-truss roofs supported by butt purlins, and there is a braced post at the junction between the two barns. The barn on the left is notable for its pup-hog ventilation holes and more irregular masonry, suggesting it may have earlier origins.
