Description

Lilac Cottage is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century. It features a coursed stone rubble plinth and is primarily constructed of red brick, with some timber-framing. The roof is thatched, half-hipped on the left side and hipped on the right, with a brick ridge stack located at the center. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and has a three-window range. The ground floor has 20th-century two-light casements, while there are three gabled dormers with old plain-tile roofs and surrounds. A 20th-century door is located on the right return. At the rear, the structure shows timber-framing with rendered infill. Inside, there is a queen-post roof, chamfered spine beams, and open fireplaces on the ground floor.
