Description
Greens' Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a 17th century core that has been altered in the early and late 19th century. The building features rubble stone on the end and rear walls, while the facade facing the road is made of chequered brick. It has a steeply pitched gabled roof, covered with machine tiles on the road side and stone tiles on the rear. There is a brick stack on the south side. Originally, it consisted of two timber-framed cottages, each with one storey and an attic. The east front, which faces the road, has two bays with segmental three-light two-pane casements and gabled stone-tiled dormers that have modern glazing. At the rear, there are later 19th century two-storey brick additions with slate roofs. Inside, the ground floor of the original cottage range is divided by a low transverse rubble stone wall that has a wooden wall plate, from which three vertical studs rise. The interior features several stopped and chamfered beams in both the ground floor and attic rooms, as well as a newel staircase located in the southwest corner.
