Description

This dovecote, now used as a utility room, dates from the 17th century. It is timber-framed with brick infill set on a limestone rubble plinth, and the front wall features light close studding. The side walls are covered with 20th-century weatherboarding, while the rear wall is roughcast. The building has a gabled stone slate roof and is two storeys high with one bay. There is a 20th-century door and an 18th-century three-light casement window in the right side wall, and the roof is topped with a timber glover. Inside, the first floor contains wooden nesting boxes along all the walls, as well as original purlins and windbraces.
