Description

These are three cottages located on Priory Road, Wantage. They were originally built in the late 18th century, with numbers 34 and 36 having their facades remodelled in the mid-19th century. The construction uses Flemish bond brickwork, with flared headers on the right-hand side and standard Flemish bond on the left. The roof is covered with old tiles, and brick stacks are present.

The cottages are arranged with a three-unit plan and have two storeys, presenting a three-window front. The window openings feature segmental arches above a 20th-century door, a late 19th-century two-light casement window, and a mid-19th century horned sash window on the right. The left side has cambered arches with yellow brick keys above 20th-century doors and mid-19th century horned sash windows. Dentilled eaves and late 20th-century skylights are also visible. The roof is of a gambrel design, with ridge stacks; the right-hand stack was the original left-end stack of an earlier house. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages occupy a prominent position at the end of a row and are included on the listing for their contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
