Description

Church Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse situated in Sunningwell. It is constructed of dressed limestone with brick quoins and dressings, featuring a gabled old tile roof and symmetrical brick end stacks. The building has a roughly L-shaped plan with a rear right wing. It extends to two storeys and an attic, presenting a symmetrical three-window façade. A segmental brick arch frames the centrally positioned four-panelled door, which dates from the mid-to-late 19th century and is topped with an 18th-century flat hood. Segmental brick arches, with alternating brick headers, are above the 19th-century three-light cross windows. A raised brick storey band runs along the façade.

The rear right wing is of similar materials and includes a storey band. A stair turret and a late 18th-century brick and tile outshut adjoin a mid-to-late 18th-century wing to the rear left, which is built with Flemish bond brick and has a gabled old tile roof.

Inside, the property features stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. A central passage includes winder stairs to the left and a door leading to a ribbed cellar. The attic has early 18th-century ribbed doors and a collar-truss roof.
