Description
The Old Rectory is a building dating from around 1840, originally built as a rectory and now converted into three flats. It is constructed from coursed and dressed limestone, featuring ashlar dressings and chamfered raised quoins. The roof is hipped and covered with Welsh slate, and there are rendered stone stacks at the ends. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high, with a symmetrical three-window façade.
The entrance features a 19th-century half-glazed door with an overlight and a round-arched entry to the porch. Keyed flat stone arches are present over the tripartite sash windows, and there is a six-pane sash window above the door, all set in a raised and keyed architrave. A raised storey band and deep eaves add to the architectural detail. At the rear right, there are two-storey and one-storey service wings that match the main building in materials and style.
Inside, 19th-century features include marble fireplaces and a plain dog-leg staircase with stick balusters. The building is included for its group value.
