Description

Nos. 13 and 15 Palmers is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early to mid-17th century, with a later 18th-century wing added to the front. The original 17th-century section features square timber framing with brick infill at the rear and roughcast on the sides. The 18th-century wing is also roughcast and has a tile-hung gable end. The building has an old tiled roof and brick stacks.

The original layout is a three-unit plan with a rear right outshut, later extended to form a T-plan. It stands two storeys high and has a three-window range. There is an early 19th-century six-panelled door to the left, and late 19th-century casements throughout. The roof is gabled, with a ridge stack on the front projecting wing and a lateral stack at the junction with the 17th-century house. There is a plank door next to an early 19th-century four-light fixed casement with Gothick pointed heads on the right side wall of the outshut. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
