Description
No. 5 High Street is a late 18th century building featuring brick construction with stone dressings and stone channelled rusticated quoins. The parapet has been restored, and there is a stone cornice. The building stands three storeys tall and has two windows on the upper floors, which are set in moulded stone architraves and feature double hung sashes with glazing bars. The first-floor windows are adorned with drip moulds. A round arched doorway is framed by channelled rusticated stone, leading to a four-panel door within a moulded wood frame that includes a keystone and impost bands. Above the door is a glazed fanlight. To the left of the entrance is a shop window on the ground floor. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 1 to 15 (odd).
