Description

No. 8 Market Place is a building dating from the 17th century, with a front elevation that features 18th-century stucco and a tile roof. The structure has one gable, which includes a flat arch casement window with glazing bars. A band continues from the cill and joins a moulded eaves cornice. There is one window on each storey, which is a flush framed double hung sash with glazing bars, accompanied by a frieze and cornice. The ground floor has a modern shop front that has been built out. This building is part of a group with Nos. 5 to 9 and the County Hall.
