Description

The buildings at 6 and 8 High Street form a single structure dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick with a stone-capped parapet, rising to four storeys and originally featuring four windows. The windows have gauged brick arches and double-hung sashes with glazing bars. Number 8 has longer, more modern windows on the ground floor. Number 6 has a projecting, modern stone front with four Doric pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice supported by brackets. This construction holds an iron balconette in front of the first-floor windows. The buildings are part of a group that includes numbers 2 to 18 (even) on the High Street.
