Description
No. 10 High Street is a building from the 16th century, although it may have an older core. The front is made of painted brick and features a tile roof. It has three storeys and attics, with three gabled dormers that contain casement windows. There are two windows on the ground floor with wood surrounds and flat arches, which include glazing bars. A string course runs between the first and second floors. The first floor has four windows, while the ground floor showcases two elegant late 18th-century semi-circular bay windows that support slender iron balconettes. These bays have three lights without glazing bars, brick bases, an ornamental frieze, and a modillion cornice. The doorway is framed by Doric pilasters and features a frieze adorned with swag ornament and a semi-circular pediment. No. 10 is part of a group with Nos. 2 to 18 (even).
