Description

Berrycroft Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse, although a 1593 datestone is set into the wall. The house is constructed of uncoursed chalk rubble with brick quoins and dressings, and has a tiled roof with brick stacks. It is arranged in an L-shape, with a two-storey, five-window front. A 20th-century gabled brick and tile porch shelters a late 19th-century four-panelled door with glazed upper panels. The windows are 20th-century two- and three-light casements with brick dressings and cambered arches linked by brick bands; a brick storey band runs along the front, and the reset 1593 datestone is located on the right-hand side. The roof is hipped, with a ridge stack. The interior has not been inspected. A rear wing is constructed of chalk rubble and brick, and features tile cladding to the left and weatherboarding to the rear. A 20th-century brick, weatherboard, and pantiled lean-to extension is attached to the rear, at the angle between the wings.
