Description
Nos. 9, 10 and 11 (The Bank) on Well Street in Ardington is a row of two cottages, likely a former farmhouse, dating from the mid-17th century, with an 18th-century addition to the right and a probable 19th-century encasement to the left. The building features timber-framing with rendered infill in the center, red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond on the right, and roughcast, likely on brick, with 19th-century false timber-framing on the left. It has a 20th-century plain-tile half-hipped roof, a brick ridge stack in the center, a lateral stack on the right, and an internal stack at the rear left. The structure is two stories high and has a five-window range. There is a plank door in the center with a 19th-century gabled hood on brackets, and a 19th-century two-centre arch-headed door to the left of center. The fenestration is irregular. The interiors have not been inspected.
