Description
41 Grove Street is a house built around 1730 to 1740. It features imitation stone render and chamfered quoins on its early 19th-century front, which covers the original brick. The left side wall has random bond brick and tile hanging, while the rear is rendered. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has brick stacks. The house has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high with a two-window range. There is an 18th-century six-panelled door with a beaded architrave on the left, an early 19th-century sash window above, and early 19th-century eight-pane sashes to the right. The roof is gabled, with a gable end stack to the right and a rear lateral stack. Inside, there are early 18th-century two-panelled doors, an early 18th-century quarter-turn staircase with vase balusters on a closed string, and a three-bay common-rafter roof.
