Description
Shotover Cottage and Shotover House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, with a datestone marked WW 1823 above the door. The building is constructed of chalk ashlar with brick quoins and dressings, topped with an old tiled roof and featuring brick stacks. It has a two-unit central staircase plan and a continuous rear outshut. The structure is two stories high and has a three-window range. A late 20th-century porch leads to the central planked door, while brick segmental arches sit above the original three-light and one two-light casements. There is a brick storey band and bands connecting the windows, along with a gabled roof and end stacks. Inside, the original four-panelled doors remain on the first floor. There are late 20th-century extensions to the rear and a first-floor addition to the original lean-to outshut. Shotover Cottage, located to the right, is built in a similar style and materials but has a 20th-century tiled roof, featuring a two-window range of horned sashes and a 20th-century door.
