Description

The kitchen garden walls, built around 1764 by Stephen Wright for Bryant Barrett, are located approximately 70 meters northeast of Milton Manor House. These walls are made of red brick and feature a rectangular plan with gates. The attached perimeter walls also consist of red brick, with some sections having a coursed stone rubble plinth. The brick gatepiers are adorned with stone quoins and topped with stone balls and pineapple finials, along with 19th-century cast-iron gates.

There is an outbuilding, likely a former animal house, also dating from around 1764. This structure is made of red brick and has an old plain-tile half-hipped roof. It is a single-storey, ten-bay range, with an open center of four bays. The three-bay ends have central doors and 20th-century altered louvred windows on either side. Inside, the building features a curved under-principal roof with 19th-century alterations that created a king-post roof on the right side.

These kitchen garden walls and associated structures are part of the additions and alterations made by Bryant Barrett after he acquired Milton Manor.
