Description

The Malt House and stables, located approximately 40 metres south-southeast of Kingston House, are early 18th-century structures with a later 18th-century addition. The front is built of random bond brick, with 19th-century repairs to the left and central gables, while the rest is made of coursed limestone rubble. The building features a gabled stone slate roof with brick ridge stacks.

The central carriageway leads to an L-shaped malthouse on the right and stables on the left, which partly enclose half of the rear yard. The structure is one storey with an attic and has a seven-window range, including gabled central and outer bays. A central entry features a gauged brick, keyed round arch with studded double doors. To the right is a segmental arch over a 20th-century door, and to the left is a 20th-century sash window, alongside early 19th-century eight-pane sashes. The building has dentilled eaves and mid-19th-century dormers with sashes, as well as a mid-19th-century pyramidal bell cupola. The rear entry is similarly round-arched, with early 19th-century sashes to the right. The stable range includes six-pane sashes and plank doors with large overlights. The interior has not been inspected.
