Description
The Lamb Public House is a building that dates from the mid-16th century and has been adapted over time. The rear wing was remodeled around 1890, while the front range was constructed in the early 19th century. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof with brick stacks. It has an L-shaped plan and is two stories tall, with a four-window range. There are timber lintels above a six-panelled door on the left and sash windows. The roof has a gabled section on the left and a hipped section on the right, with a stack at the left end and a lateral stack at the rear adjoining the rear wing. The gabled wing at the back was originally timber-framed but was rendered around 1890, with the first floor demolished and extended by one bay to the rear. Inside, the front half of the rear wing has a cyma-moulded beam over the fireplace and linenfold panelling. The first floor of the front range was not inspected. Attached to the left gable wall of the front range is a two-story coach house made of coursed limestone rubble, also with a Welsh slate roof and a timber lintel over a blocked double opening. Additionally, there is an early 19th-century brewhouse attached to the rear wall of the rear wing.
