Description

No. 12 Cothill is a small house dating from the mid-18th century, with graffiti that dates to 1753 and 1794. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings and features a gabled roof covered in old tiles, along with a brick stack at one end. It has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with a two-window range. A timber lintel is positioned over the central 20th-century door. There are segmental brick arches above the 20th-century three-light casements, and chamfered timber lintels over the three-light casements on the first floor, which have early 20th-century brick jambs. The eaves are decorated with dentilled brickwork. Inside, there is a chamfered beam and old roof purlins. The house is included for its group value.
