Description
London House is an early 19th century house constructed of painted brick and rubble stone. It has two stories and an attic, topped with a plain tile roof featuring deep eaves and one gabled dormer. The gables are located at the east and west ends, with the east gable showcasing stone coping and a nogged stone course beneath. The north front, originally featuring chequered brick, is now painted and includes broad brick bands above and below the first floor, along with nogged brick eaves. The house has a three-window range with gauged brick window heads and glazing bar sashes. The ground floor has a triple sash window on the east side and a partly blocked window on the west side, with a basement below. The south side is made of rubble stone with brick bands continuing around, featuring one 16-pane sash stair light and two doors. The property has group value with other houses on London Street.
