Description
19 and 20 The Street are a pair of semi-detached houses built in 1893 in the Cotswold vernacular style by architects Sir Ernest George and Alfred Yeates for Alexander Henderson of Buscot Park, as noted on the doorway lintel of No. 20. The houses are constructed from coursed rubble stone with stone dressings, featuring a gabled stone tiled roof and stone stacks. They have an L-shaped plan and rise to two storeys, with asymmetrically placed windows that include 1-, 3-, and 4-light mullioned openings with leaded glazing. No. 19 has a projecting bay window on its east front. The doorways are Tudor-arched with plank doors; the entrance to No. 19 is concealed on the north side, while the doorway for No. 20 is prominently located on the east front, featuring a flat projecting hood and the aforementioned inscription.
