Description
Wayside Cottage is a house that likely dates back to the late 16th century. It features a rendered plinth on the left side and large timber framing with rendered infill, probably built on stone rubble, on the left and in the attic. The right side of the ground floor is also rendered. The cottage has a thatched roof, with a brick stack at the left end and a ridge stack near the center on the right. It is a single-storey building with an attic and has a four-window range. There is a stable door in the center and a plank door to the right. The windows are irregularly placed casements with leaded lights. On the right side, there are two swept dormers with two-light casements that also have leaded lights. To the left, there is a gabled dormer with an old plain-tile roof and surround, featuring a two-light casement with leaded lights. The interior has not been inspected.
