Description
Chapmans and the attached barn is a house dating from the 17th century. It features painted uncoursed stone rubble with a rendered plinth and large timber-framing with rendered infill, topped by a thatched roof that is half-hipped at the cross-wing. The building has brick ridge stacks located to the right of the center and at the cross-wing. It is a two-storey, two-bay range with a two-storey and attic cross-wing to the left. There is a plank door leading to a 20th-century lean-to porch at the junction of the main range and the cross-wing. The windows are irregularly arranged casements, some of which have leaded lights, and there is a swept dormer to the left of the main range. The interior has not been inspected. The attached barn, likely also from the 17th century, has a flint plinth and weatherboarding on timber-framing, with a hipped thatch roof. It is a three-bay barn with 20th-century fenestration, and its interior has not been inspected.
